    1.0 Standard Sizes.

    1.1 Four, six and eight feet.

    2.0 Functional Requirements

    2.1 All messages shall be clearly legible, attracting attention under any lighting conditions. 2.2 The sign shall consist of: a. Extruded aluminum top, bottom and door. b. Cast aluminum ends. c. Sign Face(s). d. Illumination. 2.3 Fluorescent lighting will be provided by 2-800 MA standard lamps. 2.4 Ballast shall be encased and potted and shall be provided by a major manufacturer with proven dependability. 2.5 Fluorescent sockets will be D-Die snap-in-type sockets with a rubber gasket on the lamp mating surface to prevent possible water damage. 2.6 All wiring shall be 600 volts, 900 degree C, #18 AGW soft annealed copper wire. 2.7 Wire connections will be made with insulated compression wire nuts.

    3.0 Mechanical Construction

    3.1 Aluminum Housing a. Top shall be extruded from 6063-T5 aluminum alloy with a minimum thickness of 0.1410". Drip rails overhanging the sign face help prevent water intrusion. b. Bottom shall be extruded from 6063-T5 aluminum alloy with a minimum thickness of 0.094". c. Ends shall be cast from 356 aluminum and have a minimum thickness of 0.188". d. Seams connecting top and bottom to ends shall be welded continuous to provide a weatherproof seal. 3.2 0.125" extruded aluminum doors have one side removable to gain access to sign face(not necessary for normal maintenance). 3.3 A continuous stainless steel hinge, 0.040" x 1 1/16" open, shall mount the bottom of the door to the housing. 3.4 Signs shall have three 1/4-turn Dzus fasteners per door to secure it to the housing. 3.5 Sign face shall be 0.125" white polycarbonate. 3.6 Drainage shall be provided by drain holes located in the corners of the housing bottom. 3.7 Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) foam gaskets shall seal the sign between the door and housing. 3.8 Reflectors shall be constructed from 0.020" aluminum and shall be painted white. 3.9 Socket tracks shall be constructed from 0.063" aluminum and shall be painted white. 3.10 Recommended mounting hardware is available from National Sign and Signal Co., Inc. This hardware allows swinging of the sign to reduce mast arm wind loads. Brackets are adjustable for leveling the sign for use on any size mast arm. Other mounting methods may be applicable.

    Warranty

    All products will be warranted to be free of defects due to material and workmanship for a period of two (2) years.
