Internally Illuminated Mercury Vapor Case Signs
National Sign and Signal also offers 2-way and 4-way
internally illuminated traffic signs; standard and custom
messages are available.
Features
Signs are capable of displaying a single message in two to four
directions at one time.
Standard size is 24x30 (custom sizes available).
Messages are permanently visible. Daytime illumination is not
necessary.
1.0 General Information
1.1 Lighting will be provided by one 250-watt mercury vapor lamp in
4 ways and two 100-watt lamps in 2-ways.
1.2 Ballast ratings for 4-way signs are: 250 watts - 120 volts, 2.4
amps, 60 cycle. For 2-way signs: 100 watts - 120 volts, 0.95
amps, 60 cycle.
1.3 All wiring shall be 600 volts, 90"C, #18AWG soft annealed
copper wire.
2.0 Mechanical Construction
2.1 Case signs are made of aluminum housing .063", and a channeled
aluminum framework structure inside .063" in thickness.
2.2 Corners and seams are heli-arc welded to provide a weatherproof seal
around entire case.
2.3 A light defuser shall provide even lighting to each of the sign
faces.
2.4 Drainage shall be provided by four 1" drain screens located at the
corners of the housing bottom.
2.5 Finish on sign housings consists of two coats of exterior sign
enamel applied after surface material is acid-etched and primed with
zinc-chromate primer.
Warranty
All products will be warranted to be free of defects due to material and
workmanship for a period of two (2) years.
